These Boots Are Made For Walkin' 2019.
80 12" x 12 " Acrylic Paintings
The following work explores the iconic symbolism of the cowboy boot
in historical and contemporary colonialism. Each painting (80)
represents a country where the U.S. currently has a military base.
The title references "These Boots Are Made for Walkin',"
a pop song musically composed by Lee Hazlewood and
first written and recorded by Nancy Sinatra.
It was released in February 1966 and hit #1 in the United States
and United Kingdom Pop
